From Pimples to Periods: Teaching Girls About Puberty

Transition from girlhood to womanhood is a celebration, not an emergency. Nevertheless, puberty can be a dreaded conversation topic for girls and parents alike. Put away the picture books and hand puppets and join us as Lauren Sallinger, FNPC, sets the record straight. Nurse practitioner at the Calcasieu Parish Health Unit, Lauren will lead us in an interactive discussion about everything from pimples to periods. Get your questions answered and learn that puberty doesn’t have to be scary!

This seminar is for adults and girls ages 8-12.
