Family Foundation of Southwest Louisiana Sponsored 2008 Connections Count! Family Focus Professional Development Conference

The Family Foundation of Southwest Louisiana sponsored the Connections Count! Family Focus Professional Development Conference Feb. 20, and 21, 2008.  The speakers included Julia Beatty, 21^st Century Foundation; Allison DeFelice, Ph.D., Mental Health Director, Assessment & Resource Center; David Hood; Thomas H. Coyne, LCSW, Executive Director Office of Addictive Disorders, Consultant; Kerry Anderson, Director of Community and Public Affairs, L’Auberge du Lac; Carol Collins, Director of Public Relations, ConocoPhillips; Lynn Singletary, Ph.D.;  Ron Wells, Ph.D.with LSU; Ashley Shelton, COO and Policy Director for Louisiana Disaster Recovery Foundation; Jessica Venegas, CUREex Fellow with Unity of Greater New Orleans; Judge David Ritchie; Judge Michael Canaday; and John DeRosier, Calcasieu Parish DA. 

Other conference sponsors included 21^st Century Foundation; Children’s Justice Act, Louisiana Children’s Trust Fund, Foundation for the Mid South; LANO, L’auberge du Lac, Louisiana Disaster Recovery Foundation, and the United Way of Southwest Louisiana.  Attendance to the conference was 177 on the first day and 145 on the second day, and 35 attended on scholarships.
