Foundation Sponsors LANO Annual Conference Scholarships 

The Family Foundation of Southwest Louisiana sponsored registration scholarships to the Louisiana Association of Nonprofit Organizations (LANO) Annual Conference held in October of 2008 at the Hilton Baton Rouge Capitol Center. These scholarships were given for leadership development of those in the nonprofit sector. Those sponsored were Jennifer Couvillion of the Calcasieu Women’s Shelter, Edwina Medearis of The Nurse’s Clinic, Inc., and Tommeka Semien of The Literacy Council of SWLA.

The 2008 theme was People: The Power of Nonprofits. Being the largest gathering of Louisiana nonprofit, foundation and corporate professionals, board members, consultants and volunteers, it afforded the opportunity for these individuals to attend various workshops on a wide variety of topics.
