Recreation

Recreation: Identify and promote use of safe and available recreation facilities in the absence of schools.

Current Status:

The Leadership Center, 309 N. Huntington St., Sulphur, is open Tuesday – Thursday, 2-8, and Friday-Saturday, 2-9, for youth ages 12 to 17.  Call 527-7729.

Big Brothers Big Sisters, 4135 Common, is open Monday--Friday, 7:30-5:30.  Call 478-5437.

The following Community Recreation Centers are open Monday-Friday at the following times:

  • Henry Heights, 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

  • Goosport, 11:30 a.m.-8:00 p.m.

  • College Oaks and Columbus Circle, 2:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.

  • McMillan and University, 3:30-7:30 p.m.

  • Purple Heart, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. M-F, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Fitness Center only.

  • Drew Park, outside facilities, dawn to dusk, building is for rentals only

Foreman-Reynaud Community Center is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday- Friday. Back to school tutorial programs are available 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Call 436-2509.
