Regional Town Hall Meeting
Date: Wednesday, March 12,
2008 9:00 – 12:00 Town Hall Meeting LANO is the Louisiana delegate for the Nonprofit Congress, an initiative of the National Council of Nonprofit Associations (NCNA). The Town Hall Meeting will gather Southwest Louisiana’s nonprofit leaders who will identify the priorities of the local nonprofit sector. From this and the other meetings across the state, a document will be compiled and presented by LANO at the national Nonprofit Congress in Washington, D.C. June 1-4, 2008. 12:00 – 1:00 Policy Issues Luncheon State legislators and local government officials will be invited to join participants to discuss policy issues important to nonprofits at the local and state levels. 1:00 – 3:00 Budget Briefing After lunch, participants will hear an overview of the Louisiana state budget process. Nonprofits must be aware of the budget process for their funding purposes, as well as the impact the budget has on the citizens they serve.
