February What's Inside Our Business is Taking Care of Yours Mission Past Issues

Recently, a new family came to The Leadership Center (TLC)
asking for assistance with their sixteen-year-old son, who was
failing several tenth grade classes. His parents wanted guidance. We
discussed the options available to youth at TLC, and the family
chose tutoring.
We contacted his teachers by email and explained who we are and how we were planning to assist this student. At TLC, we encourage the team approach, with parents, teachers, and staff all working together. His teachers offered insight about the student, and were pleased to know he was receiving assistance through TLC. Each gave explicit directions for how best to help. We followed their directions in determining daily assignments as well as homework and included the parents in our plan. After several weeks, the student let us know he had good news to share. He pulled a folded paper from his pocket to reveal a 95% on his recent geometry test! Everyone at TLC was elated with his good report! His parents, too, were proud of their son and maybe even prouder of themselves for seeking and finding the help he needed. Taking the first step was the hardest part, but they did it – and now his success proves they did the right thing.
