Have Questions? We have answers!

Q: What is Family Foundation of Southwest Louisiana?
A:  Family Foundation of Southwest Louisiana (Family Foundation) is the endowment arm of Family & Youth and believes that by investing in families, we are able to secure the future of individuals and our community. The mission of Family Foundation is to connect donors to the priorities that enhance the quality of family and community life for generations to come. Family Foundation was established in 2000 to serve Southwest Louisiana people through a commitment of connecting donors to children, families, and community development priorities.

Q: What is Family & Youth Counseling Agency?
A: Family & Youth Counseling Agency (Family & Youth), is a local non-profit based in Lake Charles, LA. Their mission is to provide affordable and professional support through programs and services dedicated to advocacy, counseling, and education for the people of Southwest Louisiana. Their effort and commitment to building family values guarantee a stable and stronger community.

Q: What services does Family & Youth provide?
A: Family & Youth is an umbrella organization that currently manages eight divisions: Autism Support Alliance, Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC), Children & Families Action Network (CFAN), Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), Human Services Response Institute (HSRI), Performance EAP, Shannon Cox Counseling Center, and The Leadership Center for Youth (TLC).  For more information on each of these divisions click here!

Q: How will my donation to the Capital Campaign be used?
A: All funds (100%) donated to the Capital Campaign will be “restricted” by the Foundation. Funds will be used only for expenses for designing, constructing, furnishing, and fitting out the planned new facilities; expenses for planned renovations of existing facilities; and for moving and transportation expenses incurred in consolidation.

Q: Why is this building necessary?
A: Just as Southwest Louisiana is expanding, so is Family & Youth, but our building is not. By building a new facility Family & Youth will be able to enhance and continue growing their services, expanding their reach further across Southwest Louisiana. Family & Youth’s goal is to always be available to provide the needed services to all members of our community.

Q: How will donors be recognized?
A: All donors to the Capital Campaign (who choose to make their donations public) will be recognized by the Foundation. Different levels of giving have been designed for this campaign which will provide everyone an opportunity to leave a legacy showing their commitment to making Southwest Louisiana a better place in which to live.
